CX20 2D Panel CTD

Post by joreillyf15 » Thu Mar 22, 2018 12:33 pm

Good day to you all,

I have a pretty unique problem and I have pretty much exhausted my knowledge on what to do. Without fail, everytime I switch from the 3D Virtual Cockpit view to the 2D view showing only the instrument panel, FSX Crashes. There is no pop-up from windows saying "FSX has stopped working", the sim just exits. The crash doesn't even register on Windows event viewer anymore (It did a few times, and pointed the faulting modules as d3d10.dll, ESDG_CitationX.gau, GrooveIntlResource.dll, and F1TForeFlightFSX.dll). However, if I stay in the virtual cockpit and I turn on the battery and Avionics, the EICAS does not turn on. This started happening after I installed the Flight1 Foreflight Plugin. So, I uninstalled the plguin, problem persists. Reinstall Citation, no avail. I then removed all the DLLs and folders associated with the plugin that I installed and cleared the DLL.XML, and then reinstalled the Citation, but it still keeps happening. I guarantee it is not caused by any of my other addons because it started happening specifically after I installed the Flight1 Plugin. Any help would be appreciated!

Software/Hardware:
FSX Steam
Windows 10 64 bit
AMD A8-6600K 3.9 GHZ Processor
GTX750

1. Ensure there is a hypergauge.dll in the Modules folder.
2. Post the content of your DLL.XML file here.

HyperGauge.dll is present, DLL.XML:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>

<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
<Descr>Launch</Descr>
<Filename>dll.xml</Filename>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
</Launch.Addon>
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>FSUIPC 4</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Path>Modules\FSUIPC4.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>CMeteoXml</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Path>.\CMeteoXml.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>Carenavigraph</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<Path>.\Carenavigraph.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>
<Launch.Addon>
<Name>Mindstar Hypergauge</Name>
<Disabled>False</Disabled>
<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
<Path>Modules\HyperGauge.dll</Path>
</Launch.Addon>

Your DLL.XML is completely hosed... I wouldn't know what addon did that to it... but.. here's a corrected one:

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?>
<SimBase.Document Type="Launch" version="1,0">
	<Descr>Launch</Descr>
	<Filename>dll.xml</Filename>
	<Disabled>False</Disabled>
	<Launch.ManualLoad>False</Launch.ManualLoad>
	<Launch.Addon>
		<Name>FSUIPC 4</Name>
		<Disabled>False</Disabled>
		<Path>Modules\FSUIPC4.dll</Path>
	</Launch.Addon>
	<Launch.Addon>
		<Name>CMeteoXml</Name>
		<Disabled>False</Disabled>
		<Path>.\CMeteoXml.dll</Path>
	</Launch.Addon>
	<Launch.Addon>
		<Name>Carenavigraph</Name>
		<Disabled>False</Disabled>
		<Path>.\Carenavigraph.dll</Path>
	</Launch.Addon>
	<Launch.Addon>
		<Name>Mindstar Hypergauge</Name>
		<Disabled>False</Disabled>
		<ManualLoad>False</ManualLoad>
		<Path>Modules\HyperGauge.dll</Path>
	</Launch.Addon>
</SimBase.Document>
Replace the content of your current DLL.XML with the above replacement lines.
Best Regards,

Works like a charm now, I can't believe it was such an easy to spot problem! :D

Thanks for all your help!
