CXG2 External Power

Post by Juergen2 » Mon Oct 16, 2017 6:21 pm

Hi, can anyone tell me how to connect External Power, so the "EXT PWR" light is illuminated?

There is no EXT PWR, just the APU.

Hi Ed,
I could have sworn that I connected EXT power at one flight.
But thanks for the reply

I'm new here. But anyway. While there is no visible EXT POWER generator visible... one has the option of clicking ON External Power by... IIRC... Shift/2 from within the VC and over on the Upper Right where is says EXT POWER Available... just click it ON while also turning ON the Left and Right Battery? Then there is that Cross Tie Bus swhtch which should be TURNED OFF while on the ground?

At least... that's the way I've always ran my X?

Thanks Keith, I was pretty certain I connected a GPU.

There is no actual external power that functions in this addon. Trust me. The batteries will most defiitely die. The APU is the primary source of power with the engine off and the cross tie should always be on when running on only battery or APU.

Hello Ed. The following is just my observation about the BUS TIES switch/Indicator light (and I shy away from arguments... especially on Forums). But, I often wondered about why the BUS TIES are always turned OFF after a landing and subsequent taxi to a ramp? I don't turn it OFF after landing... and it's always ON during a flight. I manually turn it ON after starting the engines from APU power.

I recall reading somewhere that (I guess) real world X pilots were notorious for leaving it ON... thererby discharging the battery on the plane.

Also... FWIW.. I run all my controls via FSUIPC (paid) and toggle the {Extend Battery Life checkbox} via FSUIPC interface.

The next time I fire up the C750, I will turn the B/T switch ON while sitting on the ground... running on Battery power... and having the EXTERNAL Power switch ON and see if the batteries drain down.

I find this topic interesting after running the clock on my X installation over 1000 hours.

Cheers,

Keith
